Charvel DK-80-HS 1990’s – White

$ 795.00

One of the coolest Charvels available on the Japanese Domestic Market. The DK-80SH has the body of a Predator, with the sharkfin neck of a Model 4 or 5 – but with a proper Floyd Rose locking nut. Once again, this one had a headstock break in shipping, so here is what I did: Glue with TiteBond Wood Glue, clamp and sit for 36 hours. Then I pre-drill a hole and use a wood screw for the added stability. The glue would be good enough, but the screw is the gaurantee that the repair is permament. This is maybe the 15th or so headstock I have repaired and sold – and none have re-broken. Aside from that, it’s a killer guitar. Barely any playwear or fretwear, this one was well cared for. Missing the tremolo bar.

Why is this one so expensive given that it has a headstock repair? Because out of the 15 guitars I have for sale right now, this is my favorite and I do not care if it sells or not. It has awesome tone, possibly because it’s dense coming in at 8.8 lbs.

Packing and Shipping:

  • I always loosen the strings and support the tremolo
  • Special care is given to protect the headstock, especially if it is tilt-back
  • I wrap any accessories away from the guitar
  • Guitars I ship without a case get completely bubble wrapped and then surrounded by padding inside the guitar shipping box.
  • I draw arrows on the box so the carrier does not transport upside down.
  • I always ship using Reverb’s Safe Shipping and with UPS Ground.

I do not always take pictures of the neck pocket. Almost every vintage bolt-on neck guitar has small cracks in the paint in that area. If that is something that you care about, then ask me to look and send pics. Otherwise, just expect it.

The majority find my setups to be just right, and playable without any professional intervention (read my feedback). This setup may not be to your specifications, however. If it does not feel right to you, please consider a full setup to get the guitar dialed in to your preferences.
