Carvin Ultra V 1988 – Pearl Blue

$ 1600.00

1988 Carvin Ultra V

I ordered this Carvin Ultra V new back in 1988 via mail order to use in a metal band I was in at the time. This guitar was played for a few years (roughly 1988-1991) and then put away. Around 2000, I decided to have it professionally refretted with medium fretwire. The guitar plays and sounds better than ever, but hasn’t really been played much in the last 30 years.

Condition is great, especially for a guitar this age. A few scratches and very small dings. The sharp edges/points on the body do show some paint that has worn off (I’m being picky about my description). It was tough to try and get very close up pictures, as the finish was very reflective. Also, the finish appears to be sinking into the wood slightly, as I can see some grain lines. Very cool look and normal for a 36 year old guitar.

Overall, a very well made, high quality shredder that’s in great shape for its age.

Specs/features of this guitar include:

-Deep pearl blue finish

-Gold hardware

-Neck through body construction. Maple neck with alder “wings” for the sides.

-Kahler Pro tremolo with Bill Edwards locking nut (No tools needed)

-24 fret ebony fingerboard with real pearl block inlays (not plastic)

-Carvin M22 neck and M22SD bridge pickups

-Master volume and tone controls. 3-way pickup selector switch.

-Neck size depth:1st Fret .78”     12th Fret .95  (Typical 80’s thin shredder neck)

Only reason for selling is I never play it. Some great memories were made playing it, time for someone else to make some new memories with it. 🙂
