Welcome to All Music Inc’s Musicdungeon, you are looking at a great piece.
This is the Early 1990s Carvin DC400 Natural Koa Electric Guitar.
25″ scale length. 1.66″ nut width. 7 lbs 4 oz.
.74″-.83″ 1st to 12th fret neck depth.
The 37270 serial puts this Carvin to around 1993.
Carvin was responsible for some of the coolest designs, especially in the late 80s/early 90s.
This Carvin starts off with a koa body and koa through neck.
This, in combination with the brass fixed bridge, results in a big natural tone, with the light weight combining with the koa to create a fantastic naturally resonant and vibrant tone.
Dual Carvin C22 Alnico 5 humbuckers, with their 12 pole design, grab this tone and add their own vibe to the mix.
The bridge pickup meters at 8.18k- so you have a good organic tone while still pushing the front end of the amp.
The neck pickup meters at 6.82k- perfect for sweet neck sustains.
Each pickup coil taps off of its own switch, and there is a phase switch for when both pickups are on together.
Everything you need for a variety of great tones.
The figured koa neck here has a thin feel, while the through design enables good tone transfer.
The ebony fingerboard here has a 20″ radius- perfect for big silky bends and comfy chording.
The look here is gorgeous- natural koa to show off the grains, block inlays, and chrome hardware.
This Carvin is in good overall condition as you can see in pictures- typical compressions and plating wear from age and normal use.
The frets here are clean- set up with action of 3/32″ at the 12th fret low E.
This D400 includes its original hardshell case.
This is your chance to get your hands on a fantastic early 90s Koa Carvin example.
Don’t pass this by!
