BC Rich ST-3 NJ Series 1986 – Ultraviolet

$ 550.00

1986? BC Rich ST3 NJ Series.

I believe this to be a Nagoya made guitar despite the serial # on neck plate and non-branded tuners.

USA DiMarzio pickups: cream bridge (upgrade?) humbucker, black single coils

– Gotoh? tuners

-Kahler flyer*

– Dunlop straplocks

– Shark tooth inlays (intact – I’ve seen more than a few of these without a fretmarker or two.

-Non-original hard case (stiff/non folding handle) – looks like it should contain military hardware

The good: plays well, Kahler, cool color.

The bad (see pics):

– A couple of small finish chips – tip of headstock, back of headstock thru paint

– Edge of fretboard along 1st fret, bass side thru paint – I barely feel it, but basically the clear coat is worn off the fretboard edge to 3rd fret. This has been stable for the 8 or so years I’ve owned it and could be result of nut replacement or fretboard separation, but as it hasn’t moved, it’s hard to say.

– Finish flaw – line that runs from bass side of bridge almost to bottom of the body, but lighting has to be just so to see it. I couldn’t get it to photograph.

– Trem arm is chrome so I’m guessing not original, is a bit tall, and tight points it to the bottom of the guitar.
