B.C Rich NJ Series Warlock 1985 – Black

Original NJ (Nagoya Japan) Series Warlock. This is the last year of the made in Japan Warlocks. Only in 1985 did they have the back of the necks painted. The Japan models also had the small, plain, neck plate, and foil serial number stickers on the headstock. The following years, the Warlocks would be made in Korea, get the pointed headstock, and B.C. Rich neck plates.

This Warlock has been played. It has bumps and bruises all over – playwear and fretwear. But still plays and sounds great. These stock Gotoh humbuckers are great, and the Kahler functions nice and smooth.

I do a basic setup on the guitars I sell:

• Clean the entire body (Done 12/24/24)
• Clean and oil (rosewood or ebony only) the fretboard (Done 12/24/24)
• Polish the frets (Done 12/24/24)
• Fresh set of Ernie Ball Super Slinky 9’s (Done 12/24/24)
• Tune to E Standard (Done 12/24/24)
• I set the bridge level with body
• Set the bridge/string height (Done 12/24/24)
• Set the bridge pickup height (Done 12/24/24)
• Adjust truss rod if necessary
• I do not stretch the strings, set the intonation, or tighten the 3 lock nuts

Packing and Shipping:

• I always loosen the strings and support the tremolo
• Special care is given to protect the headstock, especially if it is tilt-back
• I wrap any accessories away from the guitar
• Guitars I ship without a case get completely bubble wrapped and then surrounded by padding inside the guitar shipping box.
• I draw arrows on the box so the carrier does not transport upside down.
• I always ship using Reverb’s Safe Shipping and with UPS Ground.

• I import from Japan and resell. I do not play these guitars for very long, so I cannot guarantee every little thing is 100%
• You may encounter a stripped screw, a scratch I didn’t photograph, a scratchy pot or a loose wire from shipping. You agree that 30 year old guitars are not always perfect and may require some light maintenance
• You will not be a Karen and ask for partial refunds for these random findings – if you want perfect, buy a new guitar

The majority find my setups to be just right, and playable without any professional intervention (read my feedback). This setup may not be to your specifications, however. If it does not feel right to you, please consider a full setup to get the guitar dialed in to your preferences.
