1983 BC Rich Mockingbird Koa Neck Thru w/ OHSC
Here we have an incredibly cool BC Rich USA Mockingbird from 1983. These were first produced in their current form in 1978 and they have become one of the most iconic BC Rich models ever produced. There are a number of well known players who play these such as Slash, Joe Perry and Lita Ford to name a few. This example is a great player with a killer setup. It had a professional headstock repair over 20 years ago according to the original owner. It was repaired once and done correctly so we don’t anticipate any further issues considering the age of the repair. The pickups were both changed. It currently has a Dimarzio in the bridge and a Duncan in the neck. It also includes a set of zebra Duncan pickups. We don’t think either set is original. The electronics all function however there is an issue with the active circuit. It all comes on when you plug it in, the switches and knobs all work but it kind of dies out after a minute or two. We think that there is a simple short somewhere in the circuit but we have’nt figured it out yet. It will be fully functional when we ship it.
Overall this is a super cool players grade Mockingbird that will be a great addition to any collection. Besides the repair, it is nice and clean, plays great and is mostly original besides the pickups. It includes its original hardshell case.
