I decided to offer my 2004 cedar/ rosewood Taylor 714ce for sale. I had Gryphon Stringed Instruments in Palo Alto install the new ES2 pickup system In December. They also reglued the bridge and reset the neck for the perfect angle. I will send the invoice with the guitar.
The guitar is conservatively in perfect condition. There is no bellying or sinking of the top, the neck is straight, and the frets are in good shape. Upon close inspection you might find a superficial scratch or ding though I doubt it. I can’t find any marks.
I am a fingerstyle player with a light touch, and the action is set accordingly low but without buzzing. The nut width is 1 3/4,” and the string spacing is 2 1/4″ which makes it a perfect fingerpicker for my style though it is equally capable as a strummer.
The Taylor 714 and 514 models from that period have a very natural, woody look with their koa bindings and rosette. The rosewood is straight-grained with nice figure and the cedar top looks like it has darker over the years. It is a very striking looking guitar.
Please let me know if you have any questions. I am happy to set up a telephone, Facetime or Zoom call to discuss the guitar.
