This guitar was made in 2008 by Stevens Custom Guitars, a handcrafted guitar manufacturer with a workshop in Munich, Germany. This custom version was ordered by Dolphin Guitars, a guitar store in Osaka, Japan.
This model is an easy to hold, small CA model with an Engelmann-spruce top and beautifully grained African rosewood sides and back.
Overall, the instrument shows little signs of use, with hardly any scratches or dents. There is almost no fret wear.
An active type pickup by Schatten of Canada is installed. A strap pin is attached to the heel of the neck.
The neck is in good condition and the string height is set low at 1.75mm for the 6th string and 1.5mm for the 1st string at the 12th fret.
Despite its small body, the volume is rich and well-balanced, and the sound is moist with a reverb feel, ideal for delicate fingerpicking. The long scale and tautness of the instrument are sufficient for drop tuning and flat-picking.
A general-purpose SKB hard case is included.
