The Man in Black’s favourite guitar!
When he passed away in 2003, country music lost one of its original rebels. Johnny Cash was such a rebel that the first black Martin ever produced was built at Johnny’s request. The black D-35 became Johnny’s favourite, and it accompanied him onstage for nearly 20 years.
This Martin D-35 Johnny Cash Commemorative (#247 Proto) guitar was produced in the year of his death and is signed by both John Carter Cash and CF Martin IV. It includes electronics and the original all black case. Tags included. As a collector both the guitar and the case present as new or as close as you can get for a nearly 20 year old guitar. Recently checked over and beautifully set up by Queensland’s only authorised Martin repair shop it is now ready for sale.
Only available from Martin now as a “Custom or Special Edition” this guitar with case and electronics would cost $10,000 or more in Australia so the price of $7,500 does seem fair for a true 2003 Commemorative Edition. Open to offers.
Willing to ship worldwide at buyers expense.
