The Southern Jumbo is a high-end model of Gibson’s representative model, the J-45.
We have received a long-awaited shipment of one of the Original Collection models, which features vintage-style specifications.
The Southern Jumbo, an upgraded version of the J-45, features a crown inlay on the head, a double parallelogram inlay on the fingerboard, and gorgeous decorations such as neck binding.
It also features a tortoiseshell-patterned large pickguard and open-back gear pegs, creating an antique atmosphere.
The top is made of spruce and the sides and back are made of mahogany.
The thick mid-low range of mahogany is complemented by crisp, edgy trebles to create a powerful sound.
The sound is also different from the J-45, and it has a fully brilliant, well-balanced tone with a good grain.
It has a sound that is not too wild, so it is likely to be useful for recording.
The sound is easy to use and has a good balance of Gibson-like characteristics, making it suitable for a wide range of genres.
The neck is a slim taper shape with a width of about 43.8 mm, so even those with small hands can easily grip it.
The pickup is equipped with L.R.Baggs Element VTC.
The volume and tone can be adjusted using the control on the edge of the sound hole.
While it is simple to operate, the line sound is authentic.
