Every Larrivée is built using all solid wood. No plys, laminates, or “layered” woods are ever used.
We take the time to source all our own material, hand selecting our wood ensures we only use the best of the best. The search takes us from the exotic jungles of West India to the supernatural rain forests of British Columbia. The wood then arrives at the factory, ready for our curing combination of air dry and kiln drying. Some of it will age in our warehouse for up to a decade to achieve optimum tonal properties.
Whatever the wood, whatever the model, when you pick up your Larrivée, you’re part of an amazing story – from forest floor to the stage floor.
40 Rosewood Legacy Series
The revolutionary new 40 Series features our “Scalloped Parabolic Hybrid” bracing design. We blended a non-symmetrical scalloped lateral cross-bracing pattern with our tried and true balanced X-Brace system. This means maximum strength using the least amount of material. It’s a build that allows even further vibration of the soundboard, while still offering a controlled dynamic bass response. Like all Larrivée’s, the 40 Series are built in America using only all solid wood and feature brand new upgrades like bone nut and saddle, diamond fingerboard dots, and 18:1 open-back tuners. Larrivée’s revolutionary new bracing design means a robust and unique tone that is sure to appeal to traditional and long-time Larrivée players alike.
