Rickenbacker Bakelite B-6 “Panda” steels were the professional standard of their day. They are still generally considered by many players the finest-sounding lap steel ever made. Pros such as Sol Hoopii, David Lindley, Jerry Byrd, and Megan Lovell of Larkin Poe have helped give these Bakelite Rickenbacker B series steels their iconic reputation!

This deluxe version of the B6 is a very late 1940s model. It’s all original with a unique set of specific features seldom found. It sports the late era Rickenbacker Blade-shaped logo with a cover and a very early set of high quality “Kluson Delux Pat Appld” tuners (a $200 value). It has original CTS Corporation (Chicago Telephone Supply) pots which point to an assembly date from the 46th week of 1949.
Overall, this example is in wonderful shape, with just a few light marks here and there, most notably on the back of the body. There is also some normal wear to the finish on the Horseshoe pickup. It looks just as lovely as it sounds! The original case is included!
