Up for sale, a 1976 Gibson Hummingbird Custom in perfect working order, freshly serviced and complete with a softshell case. This Norlin-era Hummingbird benefits from the service due an instrument of this vintage, including a neck reset, partial refret, new bone saddle, and reseated pickguard,

Tonewoods include a spruce top, mahogany back and sides, three-piece figured maple neck, and bound rosewood fingerboard. This Hummingbird is punchy and potent, with plenty of inherent dreadnought warmth and power. The trebles are round and immediate, the lows are broad and smooth, with a touch of mahogany growl, and this Hummingbird has an overall balanced, true voice ideal for recording applications. There are two small, professionally repaired splits on the back at the treble-side lower bout, and some of the back binding has been reglued as well. The gloss Cherry Sunburst nitro lacquer finish exhibits extensive checking, and there is an area of finish loss at the waist on the bass side of the body. The body exhibits some minor dings and finish scratches, as well as pick wear across the soundhole. There are a few shallow marks in the nitro gloss along the neck profile which are not distracting to the palm while fretting.

A modern Gibson padded softshell case is included; the case smells slightly of smoke.
