This one belonged to my father who bought it new in 2018. He never actually played it so it stayed stored all these years.
I didn’t get the year of production but I believe it’s about 2018 (Made in Indonesia). The serial number is IS160107341. The “Flagstaff Sunset” is a discontinued model.
My luthier has recently fully reviewed it, including electronics, and found it in mint condition. He has just replaced the original plastic nut with a real bone nut, at my demand, and made a new set-up (string action, etc.). Apart from the bone nut upgrade, the Gretsch is all original.
Although the “Streamliners” are Gretsches entry-level series, the G2655/FS with its high-gain Broad’Tron BT-3S humbucking pickups plays wonderfully, delivering a nice mid-range growl.
Light as a feather (only 2.5 kg!)
In all, a great guitar for its price.
