The 1934 Jumbo has arrived from the Custom Shop Historic Collection, which offers the ultimate sound that is as powerful as a vintage guitar.
The Jumbo, which was only produced for a very short period from 1934 to 1936, has been reproduced.
The Jumbo is the first jumbo model released by Gibson, and is a masterpiece known only to those in the know.
It features a 44.45mm V-neck. It is slightly thicker than the current J-45,
which adds fullness and power to the sound.
The top is made of thermally aged Adirondack red spruce,
and the sides and back are made of mahogany.
The bracing is also made of Adirondack red spruce.
It has a very full, natural sound and a straightforward tone. This guitar allows you to fully enjoy the warm and deep mahogany sound, and produces a tone that is somehow nostalgic and full of nostalgia.
These days, Gibson is dominated by jumbo models such as the J-45, but it is quite moving to think that the history of the Gibson Jumbo began with this model.
It is a niche guitar, but it is certainly capable. It is a guitar that I would like more people to know about.
It incorporates the specifications of the past, such as a long bone saddle, rectangular bridge, and open gear pegs, giving it a stately look.
The body sides and back are also painted with a sunburst gradient, which is a feature of the Jumbo that is not found in other models.
The paint is an extremely thin thin finish lacquer paint.
The thickness of the paint film affects the sound.
In addition, each paint film is hand-treated with VOS processing,
reproducing a real vintage texture that conveys the unevenness of the grain.
Recommended for those who like guitars with slightly thicker necks and those who are looking for a fuller natural sound.
Please take this opportunity to consider it.

The 1934 Jumbo is Gibson’s first jumbo model. When Gibson first released the Jumbo model in 1934, it had a larger body than any other model that Gibson was producing at the time. Soon, it began to show its presence as a distinctive guitar. Since it was a rare model that was only produced for two years at the time, the 1934 Jumbo became a model coveted by artists, and it has come to be recognized by world-famous artists and collectors as the true Gibson sound.
With a thermally aged Adirondack red spruce top, hide glue top bracing, mahogany back and sides, a historically accurate 25″ scale and a historic style V-neck profile, this meticulously recreated guitar is a proud creation of the Gibson Acoustic Custom Shop, who have worked tirelessly to bring the legendary 1934 Jumbo back to life. —
