2010 PRS DC245 Ted McCarty Limited Edition Artist package top.
Killer Amber artist grade top. Heavy tight narrow flame maple on mahogany body. Mahogany neck with rosewood board, old school MOP birds, and flame maple headstock veneer. This limited edition Ted McCarty sports the Santana style headstock a 24.5 scale, wide fat neck profile, compensated wrap around bridge, and in the much more rare P90 version. It also has the V12 finish if I am not mistaken. The guitar has been upgraded to Lollar P90s which is a huge tone improvement over the stock Seymour Duncan’s. The guitar was purchased from Willcutt guitars and included all the PRS and Willcutt case candy. The guitar has been played and loved. It has been gigged, but well cared for. It does have a few small battle/play scars that are barely noticeable unless you are looking close, but regardless they are there and as such I am disclosing them and rating the guitar very good. On the plus side, it has that mojo that only occurs when a guitar is actually played vs being a case queen. It sounds killer and that is why it was a number 1 for gigs. Frets are in great shape and we’re recently polished and crowned by an actual luthier. Set up by the same luthier with Earnie Ball 10-48 hybrid string set and low fast action. As far as the scars, there are a few knocks on the headstock, player/finish wear on the underside of the neck near fretboard around frets 10-14ish, obviously will have some minor swirling from play on the finish, and a finish wear/knock on the top edge in the area where your right forearm would be when playing. Visually all of these things are only noticeable if your really looking close. I tried to capture all in the photos. Could be other subtle things like clouding, etc. I missed if your looking that closely. No breaks, no repairs. Top notch PRS quality. Like I said, this is a players guitar, not for a collector who wants a case queen, and it’s priced accordingly. Original PRS hard case is fully functional, all latches work perfectly, but has many scars from use. No major rips or tears but several scuffs and dents on the ends, sides, and edges. Again imaged in photos. A true workhorse and has been a phenomenal companion, but I picked up a private stock and now I am letting this one continue it’s usefulness with another artist. Ask any questions and look over the photos. Sold as is used, but fully functional, looks killer, and has that true mojo acquired from years of true use. Thanks for looking and have a great day.
