The difference of this instrument from other Les Pauls is that here the wood is covered with the thinnest layer of lacquer, besides the fact that it is very pleasant to the touch and gives a feeling of warmth and closeness to the instrument, also allows the instrument to “breathe” and open up in sound much more and deeper than other instruments. It’s as fierce and brimming with energy as Iggy Pop’s classic Raw Power song that this guitar is named after.
