Fujigen / Ibanez Japan Lawsuit Flying V 70s Black w/ OHSC Railhammer P90 pickups MIJ Guitar

$ 549.00

70s Fujigen factory Flying V, unbranded, but identical to Ibanez, Greco, and many other Fujigen-made Flying V copies from the “lawsuit” era. Original hardshell case included (great shape, all the latches work!). This one has been rocked for a good long time and has a ton of honest finish wear, but it is structurally very sound, set up nicely with Dunlop 10s, and sounds phenomenal with a new set of Railhammer noiseless P90 pickups (Nuevo 90’s). I’ve used this guitar a ton for recording and video work over the past few years. The linked YouTube video was recorded with it, and gives an honest representation of what it sounds like with some dirt through a big tube amp.

As previously mentioned, this V has a ton of nicks and dings and extensive finish wear, including some long finish cracks on the back and up near the neck joint. That said, these are only finish cracks, and the wood is totally solid and untouched underneath (great candidate for a future refin, or a fine relic, as-is). See photos for details.

The electronics have been completely replaced in the last three years, with new pots and wiring to go with the new pickups, and it has also had a recent fret leveling/polishing. Frets are in great shape, and it has a thick, chunky neck profile like an old Gibson. The truss rod is fully functional and moves freely. Tuners are original, and hold tune surprisingly well. I replaced the bridge with a black Wilkinson model that offers a little extra intonation range, but I am including the original MIJ Tune-O-Matic as well. The upper strap button was originally on the heel of the neck, but it has been moved down to the neck plate for better upper fret access. This guitar is super light and comfortable to play on a strap. Like all V’s, sitting with it is kinda awkward, though….
