Doesn’t get much better than this…the legendary 6122jr from Gretsch in the glossy Walnut finish. I’ve had a couple of these and this one has the darkest finish I’ve come across, but the wood grain does come through nicely in person. This is one of the most comfortable Gretsch’s to play thanks to the hollow-body and double cutaway, so you’re perfectly suited for playing chords as well as above the 12th fret. The Filter’Trons have a beautiful sparkle to them with plenty of body, just that classic Gretsch tone.
This one is in very good condition and has some normal signs of use from being nearly 25 years old. The face and headstock of the guitar are actually in fantastic shape, with no significant blemishes to note and thankfully the hardware doesn’t even show much aging. The back of the body does have light clear coat scratches throughout, but nothing that goes through the finish…a good buffing might even clear it right up. The original owner said the case had gotten worn enough to replace, so he opted to replace it with an Epiphone case. Despite not being a Gretsch case, it fits the guitar perfectly and is honestly much nicer than a standard Gretsch case, so I’m considering it a win.
