Gibson Memphis ES-335 Block 2016 Satin Faded Cherry

$ 3750.00

Mint condition and tan hardshell case. These pictures are the ones from Reverb when I bought the guitar. The only change is I peeled off the pick guard wrap. The guitar has two small glue drops on the back of the body near the waist (one pictured) and one by the larger lower bout that came that way from the factory. Otherwise a really beautiful finish.

Since 1958 the semi-hollow ES-335 has been one of Gibson’s most desirable electrics. The mahogany neck coupled to the thin body with a center block and hollow wings the secret to this great sound. You get the warm woody tone from the hollow section while having great sustain and no feedback from the solid section, truly the best of both worlds.

Laminated maple top, back, and sides made the same way all along. Mahogany set neck with bound rosewood fingerboard with nibs finishing the fret ends, 22 medium jumbo fret wire Plekked at the factory for precise top surfaces. Pearloid block inlays on fingerboard al la 1963 like Clapton’s. 1.6875” wide at nut, .85” thick at first fret, .95” at 12th fret thickness. Call it 60s slim taper.

Pickups are Burstbucker 1 and 2, the highly acclaimed PAF remakes which sound great. Fat girthy neck pickup still has clarity while bridge pickup cuts through yet retains the warmth of the semi-hollow body ring.

Tune-o-matic bridge with aluminum tailpiece, Grover tuners complete the build.

This is a fantastic guitar that I’ve played very little and only at home (smoke free) for the last few years and it was always kept in the case (some nickel hardware hazing as a result). However, like many before and after me, I must thin the herd.
