1974 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe RARE 2-pc Maple Cap, Clear bobbin P-90’s, No breaks, new HSC

$ 3500.00

This is a 1973-1974 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe with a rare for this era 2
piece maple cap (most were 3 pieces). Serial number appears to be 4152xx
but difficult to make out. Has the pancake body with thin, middle maple
layer. Has had late 60’s clear bobbin P-90’s installed – may put the original pat # mini hums up in a separate sale. Plays and sounds fantastic with no buzz or fretting out in
standard tuning. There are a few indentations in the frets – especially
in the ‘cowboy chord’ area – but nothing that needs immediate attention
in my estimation. Believe the frets are original ‘fretless wonders.’ Truss rod works. New Faber ABR-1 aged bridge
installed but original comes with it. Guitar was refinished prior to my ownership to the natural look you see now. Original
300K pots and caps replaced with CTS 500K pots and vintage Sprague Black Beauty Caps. Tuners have been replaced with “bullseye” Grovers – vintage
and hold tune well. Original neck volume knob has a chip out of it
around the ‘2’ position. A set of new, similar, relic’d knobs will go
with the guitar. The guitar has NO BREAKS but a previous owner did sand
the neck volute down for some reason. There are some dings, scratches
and finish wear as you would expect from a 50 year old guitar that has been played – see
pics. There is a small crack running below the high ‘E’ tuner but it was
injected with hide glue and is not a concern. Truss rod cover and pick
guard have cracks but are securely fastened to guitar. Guitar will come
in a brand new Gibson LP standard hard case – see last 3 pics. Guitar
weighs in around 9.5lbs. No trade offers please. I reserve right to end
listing at any time. I ship to the lower 48 US only with insurance and
signature required. I do not ship to PO boxes. Thank you for looking!
