Up for sale is an absolutely stellar CIJ Fender Stratocaster in white blonde. This guitar is a ’57 reissue that’s made exceptionally well, as this was only intended for the Japanese domestic market, and not for export. To the uninitiated, these domestic-only guitars are extremely well made.
The guitar is almost 15 years old now, so as expected, it does show some age. This is displayed in the body with some minor (very light) scratched on the back from buckle rash, as well as a small ding on the side, as shown above. None of these blemishes are evident unless you’re looking for them.
The neck is a nice oval c shape, with a good bit of heft to it. Paired with the 7.25″ radius, the neck is one of the most comfortable I’ve played. On top of this, the fretwork is just about the best I’ve ever seen, even better than most American Fender’s I’ve played. You really can’t even tell they’re there on the edge of the finely rolled fretboard. The frets themselves still have plenty of life as well, and require no work in terms of crowning or leveling.
On the neck are Gotoh vintage-style locking tuners, which as all Gotoh hardware is, is awesome and perform very well. The even have a nice bit of patina to them.
The stock pickups are Custom Shop Texas Specials, which, naturally, sound stellar. The rest of the electronics, have been upgraded, however, and are as follows:
250k CTS pots
Pure-Tone output jack
Emerson paper-in-oil .022mfd capacitor wired vintage style to neck and middle pickup
All wiring replaced with vintage style push-back cloth wire
The guitar currently has a 1-ply eggshell pickguard on it like the American Originals and AVRI’s have, but it does come with an anodized aluminum gold pickguard as well, and I’ll be happy to swap it back if requested.
It does not come with a hardshell case, however, I’ll be posting another listing for a Classic Series Shell Pink case I bought for the guitar. I’ll combine shipping and discount the case for you if you wish to purchase both at the same time. Just shoot me a message.
The instrument has been professionally set up, and though not currently strung up, is set up for 10-46 strings, and will ship with such. The strings are off currently so that I could get photos of the electronics, and to potentially swap the pickguard over if requested. I can leave the strings off, and send a pack of NYXL’s with it if you prefer it not ship with the strings on or would like to put the fresh set on yourself.
I think I just about covered everything here, but please don’t hesitate to reach out with further questions, and thanks for checking out the listing!
