Here is an early 1968 CBS-era Fender Jag boasting its sunburst finish and classic vintage aged look carried over from rock-n-roll days of yore. It features the large pearloid block inlay markers in the neck with white fretboard binding.
The notable Nitrocellulose lacquer finish renders a true relic’s beautiful, naturally-darkened finish with the spider cracking (see the headstock pics) defining the era ahead of Fenders’s transition to polyurethane finishes.
This is a great playing vintage guitar! The lead and rhythm circuits work as intended. A perfectly straight neck keeps the string height consistent down the neck. The neck’s nut appears to have been replaced or modified at some point (see pics) but has had a luthier’s finishing touch to maintain its smooth playability on the lower frets.
It comes with 5 relic’d Fender hardware pieces that have replaced the original chrome pieces (to be included) adding a more complimentary match to the wood’s naturally aged finish. The original saddles have been replaced with KTS titanium saddles offering an incredibly smooth offset floating tremolo.
The guitar comes with a new Fender Classic Series wood case. It’ll be wrapped with cushion and with strings loosened to preserve the truss rod during shipment.
