Vintage 1979 K. Yairi YW-800G (Grammer Model)

 Up for grabs is the coveted (and rather rare) K. Yairi YW-800G (“G” for “Grammer”). I wanted this guitar in the worst way for the longest time -I think they’re one of the sexiest-looking acoustics ever made- and finally got my hands on this one through Akira’s MIJ Guitar (a Japanese-based seller on Reverb). Unfortunately, my freakishly small hands have made playability a problem for me, so I’m relegated to sticking with guitars that have a thinner neck profile. If it weren’t for that, I couldn’t see myself ever getting rid of this guy. Anyway… here are the specifics per Akira’s listing:

Made in 1979, serial: #22089
Body is laminated Brazilian Rosewood
Neck is Mahogany Medium soft V shape profile
43.8mm Nut width, 2.3kg weight, Fingerboard and Bridge is Ebony
Vintage Grover USA Tuners
Head inlay is “Y” made of MOP

Comes with newer Washburn hard case (the original case was in pretty bad disrepair) and warranty card (expired)

Guitar Condition (Very Good players’ condition)
K Yairi’s master luthier Mr. Matsuo has taken care of the minor issues on this guitar in Feb. to this year.
Playing very well with 2.5mm and 2mm@12F string height
Frets have been dressed lightly, crowned and polished for you
Clean throughout the guitar just minor scratches
