Larrivee OM-04

$ 1750.00

This is a great OM guitar. The OM-04 is basically the same as a OM-03R, but with a gloss finished top.

This guitar has solid Rosewood back and sides, a Sitka spruce top (some of the best spruce I’ve seen) a solid mahogany neck, Maple binding around the body, and the nut, saddle and bridge pins are bone. It is a truly gorgeous guitar. I’m the second owner, and I have truly loved this guitar.

That being said, this guitar has been played, and it has a few mild finish issues that were there when I purchased it. The biggest issue is at the bottom of the upper bout. It appears that there was some finish damage there at some point, and someone tried to touch it up, but they did a poor job at it. There are also a few patches that have become glossy on the back of the guitar, although they feel smooth, and are purely cosmetic. That’s just part of having a satin finish. It’s beautiful, but it does seem to show more wear marks than gloss finishes do. Fret wear is very minimal. I tried to show it, but the frets are in very good shape. The action is also low and comfortable.

The tone of this guitar is extremely balanced. One of the most balanced guitars that I’ve ever owned. The volume from the bass to the mids to the treble is very even, which makes this guitar very versatile. I love the deep sound of Rosewood guitars, and this guitar is a great example of that sound profile. It works well with all styles of playing. Whether you like finger style, strumming, or flat picking this guitar can do it, and do it well. That’s really just the nature of OM’s though. They are very versatile guitars.

I had an LR Baggs Anthem pickup professionally installed, and it also comes with the original hard shell case.
